I love fearless design - those who use antique building materials, or those who choose to try and keep the integrity of an old home. Below are images that capture texture and contrast of decorative elements previously overlooked:

Friday is here - hope you have a wonderful weekend!
We've tried to do all of the above in our 222 year old home but be prepared it costs more to save an old home then to tear it down but in the long run so worth saving! Love all these images.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!

I am seeing more and more black painted paneling lately. I like it. Also, for the very reason of this post, I am resisting having my scuffed floors redone.
ReplyDeleteWe are going to Paris over TG. Any tips?
Best,

How many of us have access to old stuff, antiques, worn-out wood, furniture, faucets, stuff that speak to the soul of old? Few. And yet, ideas spring to life just browsing this wonderful site. Thank you for sharing, Desiree! Your blog is an inspiration source for those of us living in urban landscape (soulless, some say, and I disagree, soul is everywhere if you know where and how to look.) I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Mine was moderately peaceful - helping my sister cleaning her apartment after major renovation works. Messy, yet fulfilling.
