We have been in our home since late August but wanted to show you some more recent pics that are a lot better than the ones I took earlier.
They were taken by talented Eliesa Findeis with be photography!
Our new home is somewhat similar to our last - same color tones but more rustic. I wanted to create more of a French cottage feel with hints of Gustavian and Belgian.
We used old reclaimed beams combined old vintage light fixtures from around the world.
It's a work in progress, but I wanted to share with you how it all came together!
Have a wonderful week!
Stunning!!! I was hoping you would post more pictures!! This is a home that does not sacrifice comfort to aesthetics - though style abounds!!
ReplyDeleteI am a devoted fan to your site and applaud the way in which you have combined all the influences in your home. I think your home will be in vogue in 5, 10 even 20++ years time - that is the ultimate litmus test!! The 'objects', their patina and provenance evoke such warmth and coupled with herringbone wood floors and reclaimed beams...perfection!!
I would not hesitate to move right in and would not change a thing except to add my own toothbrush! A tour de force!! BRAVO!!

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness gracious, and merciful heavens... it IS wonderful in every way... There are too many things to love about it to mention them all. What a great eye.. the front door, the colors, those kitchen table chairs, i love those chairs..and that rustic table... the wood, the light fixtures, all of them... the gray and white striped rug, and touch of coral in the dishes... that entryway table... the way nothing is trying to hard... it's amazing. Perfection. Somehow the way you've pulled the house together evokes a feeling of life and love lived in the space - It looks like a home that one would never want to leave...

I love your house! It's incredibly beautiful. How did you mix the wood floors? Was it all reclaimed wood flooring? We have 5" plank american cherry flooring that is too red that I'd like to restain. I'd also like to pull up some ugly tile in our kitchen and mix in a new wood floor in a chevron pattern. Did you use reclaimed floor and then have it all stained the same color on site? Any tips for this?
ReplyDeleteYour style is very unique compared to other people I have read stuff from. I learn a lot of new stuff right here! I certainly love this. Thanks
ReplyDeleteLove your home:) I do interior design in Ft Myers, Fl. I love to bring a different feel to our area and I am in te middle of a job where the client has a lot of your features. I showed her your home and she loved it. Wanted to see if you could tell me the color of your walls and the color of your trim.
ReplyDeleteLove, love love your new home!

Now, who wouldn’t want to live in that house?! Everything is in their right places. You are, indeed, an excellent interior designer, Desiree! Does your new house still look as is since you’ve posted this? How does it feel like living here? How is the maintenance? I’d love to hear more about your house!
