Rustic & Charming...

I have been on the prowl for reclaimed wood furniture and beams.
I think they add the perfect amount of charm and earthiness to any home.
The juxtaposition of rough and refined is so timeless - not to mention kid friendly!

Elements Of Reclaimed wood

We just sold our home and we are now in the process of building a French inspired home in Midway, Ut.
We are so excited to get out into the country and now we're trying to compile visuals that will help compliment a French country home.
I'm so excited to bring you along our journey as I show you detailed images of our upcoming project!
We just barely turned in our plans to the city and hopefully we'll get the go ahead in a couple of weeks!
This particular home is somewhat similar to my last home, but with more of a country feel.
Below are some images that inspire the perfect combinations of reclaimed wood:

Notice the reclaimed wood on the ceiling in that back room -
they went from elegant and refined to rustic and warm

I love this pantry... the Juxtaposition of the rustic ceiling with the shiny tile!

Here is a good idea - add a reclaimed piece of furniture instead!

Doesn't Belgian design reflect the perfect country influence?!
My favorite combinations are French, Belgian and Swedish/Gustavian influences!
Please share some of your ideas, I would love to hear from you!

The Perfect Team!

Nothing I love more than an amazing company who creates and offers perfection!
Bourgondisch Kruis is an amazing team who offers one of the most extensive collections of Burgundy slabs and natural stones; these can then be turned into floors, fireplaces, stairs and columns.   This particular company has its own carpentry workshop as well as their own design team.
Below are some pictures of Bourgondisch's projects!
Every picture illustrates functionality, class and timelessness.
I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I do, and don't forget to check out their website!

Couldn't you just stare at these images all day?
The warmth of the woods, the reclaimed fireplace mantels, the lime-washed walls... I absolutely LOVE Belgian decor!!

I hope you're having a wonderful week!

Want to see some fun beach homes?

I just returned home from Newport, California and wanted to share some fun architecture in this area.
Here are some homes in Corona del Mar:

My Dad would love this home!  My parents are obsessed with anything arts and crafts/bungalow style. Every piece of furniture they own is 'Stickley'... I can't blame them, it's beautiful furniture!

I had to add this charming home.  I couldn't get over the funny gnome hanging from the tree.

The curb appeal of this home is so charming with its fun shutters!

I had to end with my favorite home in this particular neighborhood.  Look at the beautiful reclaimed wood used for the garage doors, front door and beam structures!
I drove past this home at night to get a peek of the inside through that beautiful French door and it was breathtaking!  This home is so dreamy!!

I will have some more fun pictures in a couple of days!

Timeless Living

Timeless Living is another favorite inspirational book.  They have compiled pictures of some of the most inspirational homes in the past ten years.
These rooms are soft, simple and timeless.

Here is a design created by one of my favorite designers/antique-dealers Axel Vervoordt.
The room was painted with lime paints in order to achieve the perfect aged effect.

I love the furniture in this room, it's perfect next to the more heavy drapery.

Once again the walls were painted with lime, applied with a brush to give is some texture.  The floor is sandstone from France which goes perfect with the soft colour palette.  The light fixtures are perfection, they add the perfect touch of detail to this room.

The combination of the old reclaimed wood floor and the contemporary elements create so much interest... one of my favorites!

... such a perfect summer sitting room

Stunning!!!

Antique-dealers Michel and Christine Ceuterick restored this entrance hall which was once an old brewery.

This kitchen carries the feel of the Flemish design, minimalist style and authentic materials.

I love the warm minimalist atmosphere of these kitchens.  The gorgeous Aga and La Cornue range stand out as the main focal points in both rooms... they're the perfect furniture pieces in a kitchen!

Have a wonderful week!!
